"A TREE FOR A BROCHURE…FOR YOU" - UDR WILL PLANT 200,000 TREES IN 2011
In 2010, UDR has pledged a donation to a non-profit organization, Trees for the Future http://www.treesftf.org/main.htm which has helped thousands of locations in Central America, Africa, and Asia to improve their livelihoods and their environment by planting nearly 65 million trees. For each brochure/insert that was not printed by UDR in 2010, one tree was planted and the grand total of trees planted in Haiti and Kenya was 150,000.
For 2011, UDR will be partnered with the Trees for the Future organization and this year's tree planting goal is 200,000 in the countries of Haiti and Kenya.
UDR wants to help developing areas around the world to use tree plantings to develop forest natural resources, control erosion and use trees to scrub out carbon dioxide. It's UDR's small contribution to the world's eco-system.
